Spinnakers opened in 1984 as Canada's first brewpub, and is still going strong three decades later. The brewery produces many styles of beer that use local fruits and grains, including seasonal varieties like autumn pumpkin ale. Some say the secret to the beer is the mineral water that comes from a 150-foot well beneath the pub. The main room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a menu that features 35 local farmers and producers—try the brick oven pizza or the salmon, tuna, and other seafood that's smoked in-house. Upstairs, the taproom offers an adults-only setting with stunning views of Victoria Harbour. Daily cask specials are tapped at 4pm on weekdays (my favorites are the Nut Brown Ale and Honey Kolsch), and there's a guest tap from another local brewery every Tuesday afternoon. Special events include Trivia Night on Sundays.
