What could be better after a morning of meandering through the rose gardens than sitting down to a refreshing afternoon tea? Tea is served in the serene heritage space of The Dining Room Restaurant, once part of the original Butchart family residence. (Think original Craftsman leaded glass windows, rose-pattered wallpaper in pale green lattice framework, and vases filled with flowers from the gardens.) The tea includes berry trifle, candied ginger scones, warm sausage rolls, baked delicacies, and a wide array of tea sandwiches, as well as the gardens’ own signature loose-leaf teas.
