The classic, served as it has been since 1908 in the impressive tea lobby. In a room lush with hues of green, cream, and rose, pillars topped with curvy Ionic capitals reach up to a high coffered ceiling; Persian carpets lie underfoot; potted palms, discreet screens, heavy drapes, and glossy antique furniture add to the grand Victorian look. Expect several tiers of decadent goodies that can include strawberries and cream, smoked salmon pinwheel sandwiches, fresh scones, and lemon tartlets. Bubbles and champagne cocktails are available as well as several different types of tea. You can upgrade to the Royal Tea for an additional C$30—it includes a local cheese platter and tawny Port. And there’s also a Prince & Princess tea, with jam sandwiches and mini-chocolate cupcakes, for the little ones.
