A bit down-at-the-heel but full of character, Jazzland is one of the oldest and most famous jazz clubs in Austria, featuring notable American and Central European acts alongside newcomers. It's in a deep 200-year-old cellar below the Ruprechtskirche, unheard on the street. From swing dance, to blues, to boogie woogie, local regulars and touring greats play here in a somewhat dingy but cool setting. Platters of classic Viennese Beisl food, like Wiener Schnitzel or spicy cevapcici sausages and roulades of beef cost €5 to €10. Music is from 9pm to 1am, in three sets. No reservations, so best to arrive by 8pm or even before.
