Chef Patrick Henriroux’s contribution to French cuisine was noted in 2016 with a chevalier de la legion d’honneur award. La Pyramide is one of the most famous restaurants in the Rhône Valley. It’s where Parisians-in-the-know stop over on their annual pilgrimage to holiday in the Riviera. It was once home to the historic chef, Fernand Point, who died in 1955. Current owner-chef Patrick Henriroux has preserved many of Point’s secrets, especially his sauces. Gourmands should try the lobster prepared three ways or the Aubrac beef with foie gras cooked like a burger. The excellent bistro Espace PH3 is a reasonably-priced alternative. A recent renovation has brought a contemporary look to the 19 spacious bedrooms (doubles 200€ –240€).
