Sweet crab stuffed into locally caught flounder. Shrimp embedded into soft hush puppies with a pimiento cheese sauce. Oysters that reached maturity on a nearby oyster bar. Yes, Rockafellers is seafood heaven. But it's not just the bivalves and fish that are done right here, Rockafella's focus is on locally produced ingredients and Virginia beer and wine. Everything from the cornbread to the icing on the coconut cake is made here, and done with skill and old-fashioned quality. Their specialty is Oysters Rockafellers, blending meaty oysters with salty cheese and fresh spinach. The 25-year-old restaurant, which overlooks the local fishing charter fleet, packs 'em in in the summer. Though they take reservations for the inside tables and booths at this two-story restaurant, folks are willing to wait up to two and a half hours for one of the tables on the outside balcony.
