Because it had the misfortune of opening amid the pandemic, this hotel is still off the radar for many people—which can be an advantage for you when it comes to avoiding the beaten path. While the other JW Marriott at Grande Lakes is set up like a mini kingdom you can’t easily leave, this JW at Bonnet Creek is conveniently amid the Disney World universe, which is why it’s now the JW I’d choose for park-going. Overall, expect a casual version of luxury with sweeping contemporary spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows on all 16 floors, a ninth-level cocktail deck good for fireworks views (from 5 miles away), and a classy west-facing unthemed pool area that feels large when there are no meetings going on but small when it’s busy. Although it’s pressed against I-4 (east-facing “Disney Springs View” rooms actually overlook an undeveloped cloverleaf interchange—you might want to face the pool, where the view is greener), you have to drive through the Disney campus for about 10 minutes to reach the interstate.
