A super strong value. Built in 2021 out of the gut-renovated bones of a 1971-era Best Western tower, the Drury Plaza is part of the popular affordable hotel chain prevalent in the American Midwest and Southeast, and it’s packed with extras: free cooked breakfast including you-grill-them Mickey waffles, free evening “kickback” mixer with three free drinks (including wine) and snacks, free popcorn and soda in the evening, free Wi-Fi, free parking, and all the benefits of a Good Neighbor hotel, including early entry privileges, free hourly shuttle service to Magic Kingdom, and service that’s nearly as frequent to the other Disney parks (reservations 2 hr. ahead requested). Disney Springs is a 15-minute walk away on safe sidewalk, and you can get a room that faces the fireworks at nearby EPCOT. The rooms, unfussy with comfortable beds and fat pillows, are just as good as the more expensive business-class hotels, plus you get a small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, a safe, a free welcome basket of snacks and sunscreen. All that and no resort fee—it’s easy to see why people love staying here. Tip: Rooms in the Palm tower have small balconies, while ones in Cypress don’t. Also, even rooms that are said to have fireworks views won’t if they’re below the seventh floor.
