Come here weekday mornings for First Bake, and you’ll be among a quiet few nibbling on fresh baked doughnuts and cinnamon rolls. By lunchtime, it’s a little livelier; in the evening, the place is almost hitting its stride, with lots of young professionals gathering on the patio and inside for drinks and appetizers, most staying on for dinner. But weekend brunch is when FFB is jammed, with diners stacking plates of French toast, fried chicken, meatballs, bruleed pink grapefruit, egg scrambles, and all of the many other dishes that $29.99 covers.  (Drinks are extra.) Note: There are no water views with your meals here.  FFB is set back and down a flight of steps from the waterfront Strand, so your view is of the plaza fountain, and not the Potomac.
