Staff from the Indian Embassy and others who know authentic Indian cuisine consider Indique’s regional dishes the real deal. Favorite dishes are too many to mention, but definitely order the Punjabi chole, the tandoori chicken, and the lamb vindaloo. The two-level town house offers two different dining spaces: Upstairs is a beautiful room of brightly painted marigold and lime-hued walls, with the best tables overlooking the atrium; downstairs has a lively window-fronted bar area, a good spot for watching commuters bustling in and out of the Cleveland Park subway station and all else that’s happening on busy Connecticut Avenue. The weekend brunch is a steal at $25 for unlimited plates, plus the option to add on unlimited cocktails ($12).
