This restaurant stands out among the growing number of good ones in the neighborhood for two reasons: its unimpeded view of the Anacostia River—especially from the outdoor bar areas, which bump up against a wide-planked boardwalk—and for the fresh seasonal seafood, with lobster rolls, crispy-skin rockfish, and oysters taking center stage. The menu also includes items like a summer salad for vegetarians and smash burger for carnivores. Delicious desserts are made in-house (as are the breads). Wash down your meal with the restaurant’s potent cocktails, some of which have delightfully New England-y names like the “Caper Codder G&T.” Come on Friday between noon and 4pm for “Happy Afternoon,” with drink specials and half-price oysters.
