Opened in 1976, Kramer’s was the first bookstore/cafe in Washington, maybe in this country, and has launched countless romances. It’s jammed and often noisy, stages author readings, live music, and other events, and is open until 3am on weekends. Paperback fiction takes up most of its inventory, but the store carries a little of everything.
