Restaurants in Wenzhou

Despite all their wealth, Wenzhounese are still decidedly provincial when it comes to eating. A couple of the flashier hotels recently imported celebrity chefs from Hong Kong, but the locals simply turned their noses up at Cantonese and sent the disappointed chefs back to the swankier eateries of Central with their tails between their legs. The Taiwanese coffee shop and snack chain Shangdao Kafei has six branches across Wenzhou, including the one at Wendi Lu, Chengkai Huayuan 10 (tel. 0577/8865-3063). KFC and McDonald's outlets are dotted around town, and there's a Pizza Hut on Wu Ma Lu.
