The Verkehrsbüro, Marktplatz 1 (tel. 0611/1729930; www.wiesbaden.de), is open October to March Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, and Saturday 9:45am to 3pm; April to September Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, Saturday 9:45am to 3pm, and Sunday 11am to 3pm.
Getting Around
The Hauptbahnhof is the junction point for most of the city's bus lines. Buses are blue-sided, and charge, depending on the distance within the city limits you travel, 2.40€ to 5.80€ per ride. City buses operate Monday to Friday between 5am and midnight, at intervals of between 10 and 15 minutes, with less frequent service on Saturday and Sunday. Kirchgasse and Langgasse are two of the most prominent streets in the pedestrian zone, but the closest point to catch a bus to either of them is in front of the Staatstheater.
Getting There
By Train
Trains run between Frankfurt airport and Wiesbaden about every hour, leaving from the airport's lower level (trip time: 30 min.). Tickets can be purchased at machines in the station area or at the airport's railway ticket counter. There's also frequent service from the center of Frankfurt on S-Bahn S-1 and S-9 (trip time: 30-40 min.). For information, call tel. 01805/996633 or visit www.bahn.de.
By Car
Wiesbaden lies at a major crossroads, with access via the A3 Autobahn from the north and south, connecting with the A66 Autobahn from the west and east. Travel time by car from Frankfurt is about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic. From the Frankfurt airport to Wiesbaden by car is about 20 minutes.
