Getting There
The price difference between transport options is negligible. Riding the rails is quicker, so it’s got the edge. Trains (www.nationalrail.co.uk; [tel] 08457/48-49-50; 38–56 min.; £9.70) go directly from Waterloo station to Windsor & Eton Riverside or from Paddington to Windsor & Eton Central with a change at Slough. Trains requiring no changes leave twice an hour, and trains requiring a change leave a little more frequently.
Or take a coach by Green Line (www.greenline.co.uk; [tel] 0844/800-4411; 1 hr. 45 min.; £10 single) numbered 701 or 702 from Hyde Park Corner or the Colonnades Coach Station south of Victoria Station.
If you're driving from London, take the M4 west.
Visitor Information

The most appealing way to see the area is by boat, which departs from Windsor Promenade, Barry Avenue, for a 40-minute round-trip with fine views of the castle.
