Along the Yanjiang Da Dao are loads of bars and clubs. SOHO, at Nanjing Lu intersection (tel. 027/5223-3668), and CASH, Shanghai Lu 19 (tel. 132/6066-9282), are two of the most popular ones. Take Five, located next to the Zhong Binguan on Xinhua Xiao Lu, features great live jazz from 9pm every night. God's Music Bar (Shenqu; tel. 027/8284-2865), at Chezhan Lu 25, was originally a church during the foreign concessions in the 1800s. The owner, a renowned interior designer in the city, carefully retained the original fixtures and features of the Gothic building when he transformed it into a bar back in 1997 and created some ancient Greek mythical oil paintings as decorations. A local band plays Chinese pop music at the bar from 9pm to midnight. It is nice to have a drink at the outdoor area during spring and early summer nights. Check out VOX in Wuchang, at Luxiang Lumo Lu Caojiawan Chezhan Guoguang Daxia (tel. 027/5076-1020; bus no. 59, 709, or 401), for local underground music and shows during weekends.
