This is the real deal, a stagecoach stop dating from 1686. Today ye olde atmosphere remains, and there’s also good food. Burgers and pizzas and similar items are on the tavern menu. The regular dinner menu is more upscale (and more costly), with dishes like roasted panko-and-Parmesan-crusted haddock. Or roasted duck with vanilla bean, strawberry, and rhubarb compote. It’s a good place to come off-season, when there’s a fire crackling in the hearth.
