Part ghost town and part museum, this assemblage of weathered old storefronts and clapboard cabins from the Wyoming and Montana of the late 1880s makes it easy to imagine yourself back in the era of mountain men and frontier settlers. A wooden boardwalk takes you past several notable old structures, including an 1883 cabin where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid once conspired; the cabin of a Crow scout who worked with General Custer’s expedition; and the 1897 home of Cody’s first mayor. There’s also a museum filled with relics, a suite of old wagons, and the relocated graves of many Western notables.
