These cabins along Yellowstone Lake are the I Love Lucy of park lodging: a bit outdated, perhaps, but still charming. And they’re the way to go if you’re looking for lakefront lodging without breaking the bank. The cabins are basic, with log furniture and fishing-themed quilts, plus private bathrooms (some with tubs, some just showers). The main lodge offers a much nicer place to hang out: Curl up by the giant stone fireplace or nab one of the rocking chairs on the wide front porch for an unforgettable sunset. The food at the cafeteria is lackluster: Stroll over to the Lake Yellowstone Hotel dining room instead.
