Church of the Ascension
Go through Sopot on your way out of Veliki Tabor to visit this incongruously large, double-steepled, neoclassical church in the middle of tiny Pregrada; it is known as the Zagorje Cathedral. You'll be even more surprised at the large amount of gilt inside, especially the gold embellishments on the oversize organ, purchased from the Zagreb Cathedral in 1854 when Zagreb decided it was not loud enough for its Herman Bollé church.
