Getting There

If you're coming directly to Zell am Ziller, you can fly to the nearest international airport, in Munich, and arrange further transportation from there.

Trains from Innsbruck travel frequently to Jenbach, which sits on the main rail line to Salzburg (trip time: 20 min.). At Jenbach, trains depart every hour for Zell am Ziller (trip time: 45 min.). For rail information, contact tel. 05/1717 (www.oebb.at).

Most bus lines servicing Zell am Ziller originate in nearby towns and villages. However, three buses per day depart from Innsbruck's Hauptbahnhof for Zell am Ziller (trip time: 1 3/4 hr.). For bus information in Zell am Ziller from other parts of Austria, call tel. 05282/2211.

If you're driving from Innsbruck, head east along Autobahn A12 to the junction with Route 169, and cut south.

Visitor Information

The tourist office in the town center (tel. 05282/2281; www.zell.at) is open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm and 3 to 6pm, Saturday 9am to noon and 4 to 6pm, and Sunday 4 to 6pm. Closed on Sunday in summer.
