Have the chance to do an Alaskan cruise at the end of September, but wondering if the timing makes sense

by molian »

I've been invited to replace a friend on a trip to Alaska at the end of September. I'd have to do a LOT of juggling at work to make this happen and while I've always wanted to see Alaska, I'd want to see it in a pleasant way. Wondering if it makes sense to got then? Or will it just be too chilly with too many attractions closed by that point? My friend told me that this will be the last cruise of the season.

It depends on where the cruise goes. More southerly cities on the ocean would average about 50 F. for high temps and 40 F. for lows.  Those are averages, so could be warmer or colder depending on the year.

I went to Alaska on a September cruise 3 years ago and it was great. The crew aboard said it actually was less rainy than July and August had been. Go: you won't regret it (if it's not too late)
