A day in Vancouver

by QuiGonJohn »

We will not be flying out of Vancouver until Tuesday morning. So once we get off the ship Monday morning, we have the rest of Monday and Monday evening to do a little sightseeing in Vancouver.

I am looking for must-see's/must-do's for Vancouver, that will work within that time-frame. Prefer attractions in Vancouver itself.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

What do you like to do? When are you traveling?

It would be easy to spend a day in or near dowtown doing anything from taking a gondola ride up grouse mountain and having a nice meal, walking on the capilano suspension bridge, shopping on Robson street or Granville Island or in gastown,  walking in Stanley Park, seeing the art gallery. Some things are weather dependant, some not.

Vancouver is really good place to visit. I was there 2 yrs ago. It was a big shopping destination. I must say you should go there.

Hi, We were recently in Vancouver on our way to whistler. Its a nice place with many things to do even in winter. I suggest you buy a day bus pass from a visitor center and use public transportation as a hop on/ hop off bus. Places to see are Gastown, Yale town, Stanley Park, Granville Island, walking around downtown at night and possibly the Suspension bridge (depending on the weather and your stamina).

I found a good Vancouver trip report  at travelplannersblog.blogspot dot com (you have to google "travelplannersblog" to read more). Unfortunately, I think frommers does not allow people to add links to outside blogs
