Hi Artfoley,

If you have 8 days 7 nights I would suggest breaking the time between Arenal and Manuel Antonio. This is a classic trip and one of our clients favorite combinations when first visitng our country. Your trip could look something like this.

Day 1 - Arrival

  • Private or shared shuttle transfer to Arenal
  • Check In Hotel - (Tabacon, Arenal Springs, Silencio del Campo, Kokoro, The Springs Resort) note: it is better to have a hotel in the area with hot springs on the property so you can enjoy them every night and save money :)

Day 2 - Arenal

  • Free Day / Optional Tour Day - (horseback riding, hiking, canopy tours, hanging bridges, cooking classes, chocolate tours, waterfalls, white water rafting, kayaking, canyoneering, safari floats, and much more!)

Day 3 - Arenal

  • Free Day / Optional Tour Day

Day 4 - Arenal - Manuel Antonio

  • Shared or private transfer to Manuel Antonio
  • Check In Hotel - (Plaza Yara, The Falls Resort, Si Como No, Parador, Tulemar Bungalows)

Day 5 - Manuel Antonio

  • Free Day / Optional Tour Day - (Catamaran snorkel & whale watching tour, Mangrove Boat Tours, Ziplines, Hiking, Organic Spice farm, horseback riding, ATV, Waterfall tours, White Water Rafting, Sea Kayaking, Surfing, and much more.

Day 6 - Manuel Antonio

  • Free Day / Optional Tour Day

Day 7 - Manuel Antonio

  • Free Day / Optional Tour Day

Day 8 - Departure

  • Shared or Private Transfer to Airport

It is best to have an early arrival flight anytime before 1 pm and a late departure anytime after 2pm. This allows enough time without having to rush. This is one possibility of a possible trip but there are thousands of options to customize a trip here.

I hope this was helpful, please post any questions you have.

Best Wishes,

Catalina

I bought a travel deal for 3 nights in the Playa Grande area.  I would like to extend my trip to about 7 days and am looking for suggestions of other areas to visit (would be my first time).   I am also curious as to the best time of the year to travel. As I am starting my holiday out near the beach I would like the other days to be spent doing more nature/adventure type activities.  I plan to fly in and out of LIberia.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!
