Leo Rodriguez, Lera Travel, is a Gem!

by /bio/karenb »

On our recent trip to Costa Rica with 7 friends, we hired Leo Rodriguez (Leratravelcr@yahoo.com) to be our driver for 11 days. He turned out to be an outstanding, personable tour guide, and our own naturalist on board for the trip. Although we had planned a general itinerary that included Guanacaste, Arenal, Monteverdi, Guanacaste, Leo helped us fill in all the gaps. He arranged for activities, tours, guided nature walks, which he provided himself, and suggested local restaurants. He knows his country well and is extremely proud to introduce you to its culture and beauty. His customer service is outstanding. He arrives on time, he drives safely and accommodates everyone in his group. We highly recommend Leo and will use him again when we return to his unique country. We found him through Tripadvisor recommendations and we want to pass our recommendation on to others.

Thanks for posting. I'm hoping you can give us your word that you don't work with this driver in any fashion. We don't allow advertising on these boards. Thanks!

Well, I am not affiliated with Leo (leratravelcr@gmail.com) in any way and I can reiterate everything that was said above.  We just returned from our second trip to costa rica.  Two years ago I hired Leo for a "man trip" for me and my teenage son and he couldnt have been better.  He was our driver, guide and naturalist, and helped us plan our trip before we arrived. When we were there he listened to what we were looking for, including eating with the locals, and made the trip great. He speaks fluent English and has a late model van.  Having him as our guide for our first trip to Arenal and Guanacaste really made our trip.  And while he costs more than renting a car on your own, hiring a guide can be more economical that going on a packaged tour.  We loved costa rica so much that we just went back with the whole family, and the first thing i did was contact Leo.  you wont be disappointed.

PS.  I usually rent a car when i travel, but it was great having a driver in costa rica.  The roads range from paved highways to dirt.
