Need advice on Dalmatian Coast itinerary

by Nadine »

We will be travelling there this summer.  Plan to start in Dubrovnik (1-2 days), then Korcula (4 days), day trip to Hvar en route to Split (1-2 days), then the thought was to drive 3 hrs to Lake Plitvice, spend the night and one day, then drive back to either Premosten or Trogir (3 days) before departing from Split.  My main questions are:

-- would you go to Krka instead of Plitvice?

-- since we are already going to Korcula, would Premosten make snese or better Trogir with day trips (also closer to Split airport for early morning departure)

thanks!

Hi Nadine,

I would recommened heading to Krka its only a short 90 minute drive from Split and is equally beautiful!  Also you can squeeze in the picturesque old town of Sibenik - a short 20 minute drive from Krka and well worth the visit!

I would also recommend having Lunch at 'Pelegrini' in Sibenik - one of Croatia's finest restaurnats (located in the centre of Sibenik ) just opposite the UNESCO heritage listed St.James Cathedral - A MAGNIFICENT VIEW!

I would choose Trogir over Primosten it's much closer to the airport and a lot more history and options with some beautiful beaches to visit.

Happy Travels :)

First, based upon your interests, I would highly recommend trying to get to Plitvice Lakes National Park, if you can. It's a couple hours' bus ride north of Split, but it's the most beautiful natural scenery I've ever seen. Bus travel to and from can be difficult, though.
