Hey there, Lyn! I  hope my post doesn't come in too late for you. Although I live at the Sabbia Beach Condos ( http://www.sabbiabeachcondos.com ) over in Pompano Beach I've traveelled to Sarasota and the Longboat Key plenty of times, you can't go wrong there, it's definitely worth visiting. As far as restaurants go, my family prefers the Pattigeorge's place there. You should also visit Pompano Beach and the Sabbia Beach condominium itself as well, the mix between nature and glamour is spectacular and it's worth every penny! Have a nice trip, James!

For what purpose have you came to  Longboat Key and Siesta key i.e., Business meeting, Vacations, trip, etc.because 4 weeks is a long time. There are various restaurants to stay in  Longboat Key and Siesta Key. But Suggestions are mostly to stay in a restaurant which has 3.5 stars and above..  Few Suggestions are The Old Salty Dog. It is a family restaurant and has British-style tavern serving hot dogs. Next is Daiquiri Deck Siesta Key, it is also a Family Restaurant and serves Casual joint for seafood & mixed drinks.

Hope this would help you Or else you can check online.

I'm sure it's too late for you but in case others look I'm a big fan of the Beachhouse and Ophelia's On the Bay.
