Rainy season travel to Costa Rica and Panama

by lionel st »

My wife and I are planning a trip to San Jose, Guanacaste and Panama City.  We can either go in late May, early June or early October.  We have been reading about the rainy season and were wondering what you all think would be the drier time to go? And are there other issues we should be aware of at that time of year? Thanks!

Dry season is roughly November through April. So I'd go in May because, unfortunately, some roads will wash out and be damaged (HUGE potholes) by the rainy season as it goes along. If there's any way you can go in April or earlier, I would. Some folks say they love the "Green Season" (ie the rainy season)....but they tend to be the people who work for the tourist board!

May is a great time to visit. It is the beginning of rainy season and you can expect some showers off and on or just afternoon or evening showers. The rainiest months come later in the year - really starting in August.

Yes, I think that May is the ideal time to visit these places, since already in early October heavy rains begin to flow. There are exceptions, but still. I was last year in Panama in May, because I myself love to travel. I'm blogger and often write my notes about traveling on my blog, as well as on another resource (where you can get assignment help online), where I also help students with their tasks.

May is an incredible time to visit Assignment Help Online. It is the start of the stormy season and you can expect a few showers now and again or just evening or night showers. The rainiest months come later in the year.

While both times technically fall within the rainy season, you shouldn't let that deter you. While rain is much more common during the "green season" of both countries, it is by no means a given. Furthermore, the rainy season is often the best time to explore the rainforest as everything is lush and in bloom.

During the dry season, a large part of the Pacific coast experinces a drought that completely reshapes the landscape and redefines the experience. The dry season is also considerably warmer than the rainy season. While this may be a plus if you are going for the beaches, some people actually prefer the milder climate of the rainy season.
