by Javier »

We, my wife and I are planing a trip from Cold Minnesota to Australia/New Zeland in December and Janusry this year.

Our two daughters will join us for Christmas and New year for about 10 including travel time.

I need the help of you all world travelers with ideas, as to how to plan one of the hilydays ie.. Christmas in one country and NYears in the other, as well as the things that are really nice to see, transportation advice, train, buses, drive etc

I would really appreciate any and all ideas, Thank you all soo much

Hi Javier,

Apologies on the late response. I'm just seeing this now. You don't say how long you have and I would STRONGLY advise that if it's two weeks or less that you stick to either Australia or New Zealand. They're both big countries and you're going to spend too much time on the road if you try and do more than one country. Of the two, I prefer New Zealand---more spectacular scenery. I'd highly recommend doing both the North and South Island (North for its geothermal sites and some intriguing little cities), South for its spectacular gorges, fjords, mountains and wildlife. It also has some lovely heritage towns to visit.

I can also advise on Australia. Just repost and I'll pop back. Cordially, Pauline
