My husband, seven month old and and I will be traveling to Budapest g on a budget vacation in October 2013.  We are young and energetic and won't let the baby keep us from seeing a lot of things while away. We have four days in Salzburg.   Please help us with;   Where would you stay that is affordable ( hostel, guest house, boat, etc..). Kitchen facilities preferred   What would you see ( we want a nice mix of good food, architecture, nature).   What area wwould you stay in ( close to attractions so we can eliminate too much traveling place to place)

I recommend you stay anywhere in Budapest between the inner Kor Ut (ring road*) and the river. These are the best areas I think.

There's lots of information on the internet, like here - http://www.hennation.co.uk/budapest/city-info/  and here http://www.budapestbylocals.com/best-budapest-hotels.html

I can say for eating, I prefer to go to nice restaurants like Klassz and Trofea, well priced and nice wine.

Hope that helps.

I stayed at fifteen boutique rooms, it is a very nice hostel close to the tram station and just 300 meters away from the city center.

It was lovely!

District VII (Erzebetvaros) is a good area.

- Abundance of restaurants and hotels/rentals with decent prices

- Walking distance to most tourist locations

- Generally good access to public transport
