Flying from Spain to Iceland considered as international travel?

by uday029 »

Hello All,

We booked flight tickets from Barcelona to Iceland and we are trying to figure out if that is considered as an international flight i.e., do we have to go through customs and immigration? I am asking this questions since all have single entry Schengen Visa and cannot enter a Schengen Country twice from an international flight. I read that Iceland is part of Schengen states but not EU.

I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Iceland is not yet a member of the EU. From what I understand it applied for membership and then suspended its application when its financial crisis hit. I don't know the ins and outs of this particular visa though (terribly sorry!). Hoping someone else will chime in.
