RE: Draining the swamp Italian-style. Creating beauty in Padova
Thanks for the tips on Prato Delle Valle. it will be a good reason to return.
We spent three nights in Padua in 2015 and found the city to be most interesting, especially in the old section after dark. The Piazza Capitaniato and The Piazza Signori are jammed with restaurant tables and bands during the summer months. They are great places for dinner and people watching. There is a great gelatoria onPiazza Capitiano, but the whole area is very nice and tranquil.
We stayed at the nice and funky Hotel Verdi on Via Dondi Dal' Orologio 7. The elevator has two metal sides and the other two are the elevator shaft, itself. The rooms were very clean and the staff was first rate.
