What's there to do in Louisville?

by gary m »

I'm heading there for a wedding, so I thought I'd make a vacation out of it. With one night taken up by the rehearsal dinner and hte next day all wedding stuff, how many days should I add and what's worthwhile seeing andoing there? Thanks!

Actually, Louisville is lots of fun. It has a great theater scene, the Mohammed Ali Museum (which is quite interesting), a famous bat factory (that does factory tours) and lots of great restaurants. I think you could add two nights, and enjoy yourself immensely!

You didn't say exactly what dates you'll be in Louisville, but the fall meet at Churchill Downs runs October 27-Novebmer 30th if you want to see some live horse racing and the historic track where they run the Kentucky Derby. The museum at Churchill Downs is open all year.

Take a cruise on the Ohio River on the historic Bell of Louisville. They have both dinner cruises and scenic cruises.

As stated above, Louisville has some of the best restaurants with the best ones located on Bardstown Road and Frankfort Avenue.

Don't forget nightlife! Great theater in Louisville. I think you'll be surprised by what a great town it is.

I would suggest you one place to near to Louisville. Visit GameWorks at Newport. You'll find tons of games, a variety of droinks and food. They often provide some sort of coupons.
