Don't eat Street meat!!!

Just as a warning to those who may be traveling to Kuala Lumpur. STAY AWAY FROM THE FOOD CARTS!

I ate some pork and ended up in the hospital with severe food poisoning. I wish I could rememebr where the cart was...somewhere in the Chinese section.

At least eat at your our risk.

Just a friendly warning....but, otherwise a GREAT city!

Explore the caves up north too if you get a chance.

I had some of the street food in the Chinatown district of KL, I was fine after eating it but I guess it really depends on which vendor you go to

I believe street food could be a bit subjective coz it depends on ones stomach. However i do agree that cleaniness is one of the most important issue. Frankly I was in Jakarta & having problem with drinking water but the local seems to be just fine consuming the same water.

It is impossible to judge the food source, preparation and hygiene of street vendors I avoid them no matter how tempting. There are exceptions (Singapore being one). You can get some serious nastys that could stay with you for years (yes, years ... I have encountered individuals that have had very serious health problems).
