Jersey Shore After Sandy

by alice in travel land »

We went every summer when I was a kid, and I'd like to support the community but wonder what's been rebuilt and what will still be a disaster area in summer of 2013. Does anybody know? Thanks.

Depends on what town...some are still in bad shape (beaches and houses) and others are "open for business." Here is a recent Reuters article with some information as of 4/19;

And here is the key piece: on a radio station website, but prepared by visitnj.org, a list of all the beach towns with links and updates town-by-town on what's opening and when.

Several happy vacations on the shore with children and friends--Manasquan's the place!

Every day, on the news, they talk about more places on the Jersey Shore opening up. It looks like most of it is definitely back in business.
