Lyon to Burgandy to Paris itinerary help needed

by citygal8 »

My husband and I are flying from London to Lyon,France and would like to see Burgandy.  We have only two nights to spend before we go to Paris.

We are planning on renting a car and would like to pick a base for the two nights. I am thinking of Dijon, but wondering if we should stay in Lyon for one night and then make our way to Dijon.  We would like to see a winery , chateaux etc.  We enjoy local markets and towns.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks so much.

First suggestion: Post your question again in the correct forum (France, under Europe). You'll notice that this forum on packing is not a very active one, and the chances of getting the advice you're looking for are slim.

Off the top of my head thoughts: What time are you arriving in Lyon? That might be a factor in your decision to overnight or not...and Lyon iself has a lot to see. My personal inclination would be to spend the night in Lyon, and drive slowly to Dijon in daylight for the view...

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm new to the Forums and didn't realize where I had posted. I have reposted my question as per your suggestion.  We arrive in Lyon around 3 pm.
