Very little English spoken. One hotel in mikolajki,  hotel zelwagi was down right hostile to English-speaking tourists.

Have the same feelings. Maybe the big cities are more English-friendly, but from my experience, even Krakov had problems with English speakers. What a shame.

Well, maybe they have that attitude cause most English-Speaking tourists are so entitled, just like you'all in this post.

You are traveling to a foreign country yet expect people to speak English all the time, everywhere. Did you even try to use some basic Polish [or whatevee language the country you visit speaks] ? I bet you did not. Otherwise, they would've been nicer.

I hate when people come to my workplace expecting or demanding any of my team to speak a certain language even though we are in an English speaking country. So I totally understand why other people feel so sick and tired about it.

Showing some respect and try a bit harder with the local language will for sure get you further. If not in the mood, you got plenty of English speaking countries you can travel to.

Then language will not be an issue : )

I thought Krakow was amazing and we had no problem being understood when speaking English. Incredible hitory to the place. Beware of sudden downpours even in summer, yet you do get used to it. such a great buzz in the old town.

Krakow is just wonderful! I really think you should visit again just to give it another chance. Perhaps the accommodation didn't help too much? I'd strongly advise to take select a hotel Krakow in either the Kazimierz or Podgorze districts - they're absolutely lovely. I'd recommend taking a look at Plaza Hotel Krakow
