Trans-Siberia Railway

by nathanandcharleysnana »

Has anybody traveled on the Trans-Siberian Railway? We are looking at Exeter International or National Geographic for the tour. Exeter is quite a bit less expensive but I know they use the same train as Nat Geo. Curious as to the difference between the two tours! Is it a good trip? Is it worth the travel time and cost?

I am not sure if you have actually traveled yet. In my opinion, this tour is overpriced. Trans-Siberian is definitely a lifetime experience, but it shouldn't cost that much. For a better understanding of trains/ specifics on the route, you can read the article I found recently while researching the subject myself Best Trans-Siberian Rail Tours.

Basically, a good option would be simply booking a Siberian Express (separate legs) on regular train websites, booking accommodation and tours in the destinations separately. At least, that's my plan, but I am also into going local when I travel.
