Need suggestion(s) for good "home base" while in Amalfi Coast area, etc.

by mpcbba »

My husband and I are visiting the Amalfi Coast for the first time and we will have 7 full days to see the area.  I need help with: 1) best town to stay at; 2) list of towns not-to-be-missed, i.e., one town each day; 4) transportation; 5) are there day tours we can sign up with and thru whom; 3) is a day trip to Sicily doable?  Any and all info shared are more than welcome :-) and would be very much appreciated.  As we do not speak Italian, is English widely spoken in the area/region?

English is widely spoken, so you shouldn't have any difficulties. I would recommend Ravello, simply because it's the loveliest of the Amalfi citis (I think) and it's quite easy to get from one to the next by ferry. Have a wonderful visit.
