I'm working on a trip for myself and my husband next summer to Switzerland and northern Italy. We will be driving....husband has to have a car. As seniors are there any suggestions for some sort of pass that might cover some of the mountain lifts/museums but isn't so expensive be/c we won't be using all the trains??? Thx for any suggestions. (We've driven all over western Europe, Slovenia, Croatia, etc. Just not train people.)
Don't know about passes--we generally don't end up saving money with them. Not to say others don't save money that way, but we haven't found many that fit in with what we want to see and do.
Anyway, We just finished a road trip from Venice up to the Dolomites than west through the much of the Italian Alps to Lake Como. Then we drove south to Milan.
If that fits any of your itinerary and you want to know anything about our experiences in the area, let me know.
