Ireland And The Uk Basics

Some would argue that it was the mania for building vacation homes in Ireland that helped spur the deep recession that is currently swamping the Irish economy. Literally dozens upon dozens of holiday homes were thrown up in the last decade, meaning that finding this type of lodging is much easier in Ireland than it used to be. Unfortunately, it also means that the traditional, thatch-roofed cottage you were hoping to score may not be what you end up getting.

Britain itself didn't see this type of extreme building boom, though in certain destinations the pre-fab look will dominate the rental market. Elsewhere, however -- and this is true on the Emerald Isle, as well -- digs will be as British as scones with clotted cream. It's all a question of finding the right home.
