From Elinor Gollay: "My husband and I planned to head up to NYC but then all the snow discouraged us. We had purchased "non-refundable' tickets anticipating that if we needed to cancel we could pay a "change fee" of $100 and apply the balance to future travel. Not so. AA now has the following policy, so buyers beware. If you cancel your plans you must purchase a new ticket before the time of your current flight or the entire ticket is worthless. I contrast this to Southwest Airlines where your unused ticket is good for a full year, even for the most discounted of fares. I ask: Why would anyone patronize American Airlines?"
From Debbie Lee: "I thought it time that someone gives praise to Air Canada. We all love to bash airlines, so when they do something right I think I shoud give them a pat on the back. I have a ton of frequent flier miles from Air Canada and was always a little nervous about using them, probably fearing what they'd make me do to redeem them. So I called up Air Canada and spoke to one of their agents (after only waiting on hold for 5 minutes, wow that was fast I thought it was going to be a computer voice apologising for a long delay). He was very polite and extremely helpful."
From Robert Hunter: "Just got back from Rome, I would highly recommend the small Hotel Barberini just off the Barberini Plaza fairly close to the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain. The hotel and guest rooms (34) are immaculate and have new marble bathrooms, a buffet breakfast is included, which keeps you well fueled until lunch. The February weather is a lot nicer than here in NY, chilly at night, but sunny and pleasant during the day."
From Gin: "My family and I have traveled to Mexico on annual getaways since we were children. We try to seek out the smaller, out-of-the-way towns and villages where we find the culture to be more rich and there are no high rise resorts to be found. Last year we went to Akumal, and would like to start planning a return to the Caribbean side. Any suggestions?"
From Ursula Oliver: "Going on River Cruise from Vienna to Amsterdam this April 03, and would value anyones information/insight on making this trip more enjoyable. We will be on board for two weeks and visiting many towns along the Danube, Rhine, and Main Rivers. Thanks."
