Right now, you can make your own plans to enjoy the country's second largest manmade lake by reserving a houseboat. If you book by March 31, you can enjoy a three- to seven-day leisurely cruise from March through June 29 for most bookings at 50% off the usual rates. Depending on the logistics of your trip, you can get one of these babies for as little as $23 a day per person.
Untours is trimming $100, $200 or even $300 per person on their already budget-priced trips to parts of Tuscany, Portugal, Spain, Provence, Prague, Budapest and Vienna. The only catch is you have to be able to depart on very specific dates. It's a great time of year to travel to any of these parts as winter sloughs off to make way for a budding spring and warmer temperatures.
April's a great time to be in Europe--the weather isn't as miserable as it is in January, but the fares aren't as miserable as they are in July. To promote a spring fling across the pond, several airlines have recently announced seasonal deals.

From R. Moore: "Anyone heard of any incidents of anti-americanism directed at individual travellers? I just heard of a spitting incident, and I'm finding it hard to believe. Any experiences with this?"
From Colleen Garrison: "Does anyone have any experience with some of the Spanish language courses that are offered throughout Mexico, Guatemala, et al? I am particuarly interested in Spanish Abroad and a school in Playa del Carmen."
From Melissa Walker: "We want to visit Portugal this March (2003) and found a great air/hotel package through Petrabax ($569+tx pp from Washington DC). BUT they only accept personal checks. Kind of scares us. Is this a reputable company? Any advice on companies which accept credit cards for trips to Portugal?
From Skip Bowman: "It's not supposed to cost $25 to take a taxi 3 miles from the airport in Las Vegas! Unless you know your way around thereand can tell that you're being taken the "scenic route," be sure and get the driver's name and employee number. You may well need it later on!"
From Lloyd Pomber: "My wife and I stayed at the Abaco Inn in Key West for 5 nights last week. It's truly a hidden treasure. We stayed in Room 2, (there are only 3 rooms) on the second floor. A breeze was always present even though air conditioning was there to use. The host and owner, George Fontana couldn't be more helpful, giving us recommendations for eating establishments as well as a wealth of info on what to see and do in Key West. We highly recommend it as a great location to start your Duval Crawl."
