Betsy Alles: "My husband and I are hoping to fly to Seattle to do some biking this summer. Airline tickets are $156 round trip (a steal), but the cost to bring our bicycles is $160 each round trip!! How can the airlines justify this when they allow for golf clubs and other sports items at no additional charge!"
From Robert Bump: "Downloadable coupons give students and their parents a chance to visit college campuses @ 50% off the lowest available fare. Coupons must be signed by a high school counselor and submitted to the Amtrak agent @ time of purchase."
From Cliff Ginsberg: "Did a quick overnighter in Amarillo last week and rented a Hertz deal off of SWA site for $18.99 plus, plus, total about $28 for a one day. Received my invoice confirmation from them yesterday for $51. They had the nerve to charge me $9.50 for being 1 hour late, or virtually 1/2 the daily rate, and also tried to rip me off for gas at $4.99/USG when I had topped off the tank on the way to airport!"
From elinor l hood: "Last year American offered 10,000 miles if I got their $50 credit card. Since that put me just over the 25,000 mile bench mark, I bought into it as did my husband on a second credit card. I tried to use my free ticket recently when my mother across the country got out of a nursing home after a hospital stay. I was flexible so they had a flight. However, they wanted $60 since I was flying in less than 3 weeks and it would be $100 if I needed to change the return."
From Erwin Benz: "If you are going on a cruise in the near future that includes a stop at Belize City. I offer some important info. I recently was aboard the Celebrity Galaxy that made a one day stop. We took the "City and Sanctuary Tour" aboard a motorcoach. The tour takes you through the extreme poverty sections of Belize City. It is not pretty and if you are not up to seeing real third world poverty do not venture from the port."
