From Wendy Bohannan: "I just wanted to post an update to my first message. In a nutshell: we didn't find out that we were going until 4 days before departure. I couldn't pull things together at such late notice, so my very lucky cousin got to go in my place. I realize that the prices are definitely bargain prices, and it is unreasonable to expect 'Nordstrom' service. I think the problem I had was a breakdown in communication."
From Mona Respiolo: "We just returned and discovered that on I-75, all the exit numbers will now reflect the actual mileage marker on the interstate. Some of them had little signs off to the right of the main sign giving the old exit number - some - unfortunately like ours did not. Also one of the town's names had also been taken of the sign so we had a 'lovely' 1 hour backtrack around Port Charlotte."
From Laura Travels: "I'm planning on a low-budget road trip this August/September. I'm planning on taking a cooler and snacks to help cut down on restaurant costs, so I was wondering if anybody had ideas for food that travels easily, and/or is easy to prepare when you don't have a complete kitchen at your disposal."
From Lora Shinn: "I am a lifelong traveller who now has a 2.5 year old and I don't want to stop! Our daughter has so far been to the Netherlands, France, Italy, and England, and we are searching for new destinations. Our favorite so far has been Italy, and our least has been England, for pure child-friendly reasons and the openness of local families. We'd like to hear other suggestions on mostly clean, mostly safe countries where the culture is very welcoming to young children and there are lots of opportunities to meet other families...we're thinking Greece or Turkey? Does anyone have any suggestions?"
