The city of Vancouver is basking in the glow of its recent acquisition of the 2010 Winter Olympics, but the city had plenty to crow about even before the IOC came calling. Naomi Kraus gives you the details.
Travel should be about reinvigorating one's body, mind and spirit. And following in that mindset, the good people of one island in Hawaii are organizing LifeFest Maui, hoping you too will want to rejuvenate your soul right there in "Paradise."

From Tim Pressman: "Something for nothing is not what I expect to get from any airline in these times, but Jet Blue did something recently, that was not only unexpected but also totally unnecessary."
From Jaycee Sandersen: "Where do knowledgeable New Yorkers go to buy designer clothes and accessories cheap (or cheaper) than the full retail prices of the Madison Avenue boutiques and department stores?"
From KVR: "We had just gone in April for my birthday and had no plans going back, but found a great deal for a long weekend at the Stardust for $500 with air for the both of us, and just couldn't pass it up. We purchased a Southwest Airlines vacation package for the Stardust which guarenteed a tower room and not a villa. From Frank Odette: "I had a bad experience renting a car from Shannon with Sixt. First, I was surprised after making a reservation to get a note that my credit card is immediately charged and there is a 15% penalty to cancel (I know, I should have read the small print first). My biggest complain though, is that on arrival, I was told I had to pay a 32 euro 'credit card administration fee' which the counter guy said MasterCard charges if you dont take the optional insurance!"
From oxley rosemary: "I need help planning a vacation. My husband and I have two kids ages 3 and 1. I have no idea what to take for them or for us, and I would like some suggestions on the best family oriented islands. Thanks!"
