It's only Wednesday, but you're already yearning for Friday. Stress, deadlines, burning the candle at both ends -- you need to sleep, you need to relax, and most importantly you need to get away. Unfortunately, it's almost the weekend and you've got no plans, no ticket, no idea where to go. No problem. One of the best things about booking travel online is being able to make last minute plans.
Tired of holidays at home with your relatives? Give thanks; it's just the right time to begin planning a Thanksgiving or winter vacation in London. It's a brilliant time to visit, with the theater and museums going at full steam, plus royal-ringed ceremonies back in full force after a summer hiatus. Highlights include bonfires on Guy Fawkes Day (November 5), the Lord Mayor's Show on November 13, and the State Opening of Parliament, featuring a grand procession in which the Queen drives from her palace to Westminster (November 26 or later).
Even if you're not itching to tie the knot a la Britney Spears or Nicky Hilton, Las Vegas is one of those places that almost everyone checks out at one time or another. Staying there a few days last month, I encountered an amazing cross section of people, representing all ages and ethnicities, not to mention costumes that ranged from sedate to unbelievable. Here are some of the bargains that brought everyone to Sin City.
Summer in The Hamptons means bling bling, tons of traffic, shiny cars, and a buzzy, see-and-be-seen scene chock full of beautiful people mingling at posh after-hours parties. While the crowds start to disappear as summer draws to a close, fall is actually one of the best times to visit Long Island's scenic coastline, countryside, and vineyards. The beaches are still beautiful, the fruit stands still bursting with ripe produce, the small bed and breakfasts still open. Best of all, hotel prices begin to plummet.

From Gloria Kurbanick: "I have just read about a travel package to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro for 7 days/6 nights including air/hotel. HAS ANYONE USED THIS ONLINE BOOKING COMPANY? They list no phone numbers but have responded to emails. They were listed on Frommer's."
From Oliver Yun: "I'm posting this for anyone looking for an excellent tour guide for the Angkor temples and other areas near Siem Reap, Cambodia. In March 2004, my girlfriend and I traveled from the US to Siem Reap, Cambodia and stayed for three days at Angkor Village Resort. Our tour guide was Panha Ou, of Angkor Adventure Service (http://www.angkoradventure.greatnow.com; e-mail: ou_panha@yahoo.com). Panha (pronounced "pahn-yah") is highly educated and speaks excellent English."
From Beth Hazels: "I am planning a trip for December/January to Ireland and Scotland. Can anyone tell me what the weather will be like? What will we miss by going at this time?"
From Karen Scialabba: "We are planning a trip next February and would like information on hotels. We are looking for a moderately priced hotel that is clean and comfortable. Looking forward to hearing from all of you."
From Julie Stadfeld: "My husband and I LOVE Halloween -- we have gone the past few years to New Orleans, but since we have moved to Atlanta, we feel that Savannah may be an easier trip. Does anyone know anything about Halloween in Savannah for young couples?"
