If you can plan ahead for trips to Canada or destinations beyond this fall and winter, get your wallet out and book before September 30, 2002, for trips that can begin as early as September 26, 2002, and end as late as February 28, 2003. The prices, as is usual with Air Canada seasonal sales, are great, the savings substantial.
Back in the day, "I'd Walk a Mile for a Camel" was one of America's most popular slogans. Today, that's passé and smoking is a divisive habit, but going to North India and Nepal for a Camel Fair--that's a horse of a different color! It's not exactly cheap, at $2,990 from New York for 16 days, but it's good a value.
If you've ever read Don Quixote or listened to Man from La Mancha, you know that the weather in Spain isn't always sunny. Americans are just beginning to discover what most Europeans have known for sometime--that you can still enjoy a wintertime trip here--especially with these entirely affordable packages from Petrabax.

From Doctor Lew: "My wife and I were in Paris the beginning of July 2001 when the department stores were having their big sales. The stores are crowded and hectic because the constant discount shopping and weekly sales we have are unknown there. My wife got several pairs of Arche shoes at about 1/3 the US price after sale price, 10% off foreign passport courtesy (get a card at customer service before you shop) plus the tax rebate. However, the sales chaos is almost impossible to deal with without knowing some basic French."
From Charles Gibson: "On July 1, I won a cruise for two on the NCL "Sea" leaving NYC on July 28, 2002. It allowed for an upgrade to an outside cabin for an additional $150. per person. Within 24 hours I sent an Email stating how happy we were to have won this cruise, and asking advice as to which type of cabin would be best for a first time cruiser who may have a tendency to become seasick. A totally dumb reply was received 55 hours later"
From Erin Greene: "My friend just told me about a company offering really cheap ski packages in Europe. Contiki (www.contiki.com) runs tours for 18-35s, but they have a 7-day ski package in Hopfgarten Austria for under $700, including airfare!"
From Marc Garber: "In the dead of the worst heat wave in recent memory, I spent two horrendous nights at The Manchester Inn in Ocean Grove. The politeness of the staff could not offset the lack of air condtioning in my tiny room, overlooking someone's back yard, directly above the kitchen. The ceiling fan was noisy and ineffective. I would guess the temperature never went below ninety degrees, and the humidity was unbearable. There was nary a breeze."
From C. Quick: "Our Djoser trip to S. Africa last Jan. was the greatest! Originally we booked for a Djoser Egyptian adventure, but cancelled because of mideast events last fall. The US Djoser staff were exceedingly accomodating allowing us to cancel, rebook, or choose another destination without penalty. They even customized our African trip enabling us to visit Victoria Falls. Our experience with this organization was so positive that we decided to go on their Greek tour next May - four other couples will join us on this adventure."
