It's just more expensive to fly to Eastern Europe than to Britain or France, but you generally make your money back in lower prices once you're on the ground in Prague, Budapest, Bratislava or Warsaw. Ancient castles, untouched villages, great opera, caf┬┐ society -- if that's the Europe you seek, you'll find it in the East. Fares to Eastern Europe are strikingly low this winter, with some flights costing as little as $300 before taxes.
The proprietors Almond Beach Resort can offer you savings up to 35% off the usual prices at their all-inclusive resort with packages that start at just $939, including airfare.
Easterners seem to have had a lot of problems with artificial lights this summer: first several states were blacked out in August, and now folks from Maryland to North Carolina are struggling to get the lights turned on after Hurricane Isabel. So maybe it's a good time to start looking for natural light -- and where's better than Florida?

From Nicole Reid: "I am a first time cruiser and have learned from experience the information found on message boards is far and away the best travel advice available. That said, any recommendations for a cruise in the Caribbean is appreciated. Also, how important is choosing the deck your cabin is located?"
From kingbaegg: "People vary and tastes vary. But below are some observations having used Frommer's as a primary resource for my trip to Spain last fall and Australia just last week."
From Colleen G.: "My husband, two teenage daughters and I will have a day and an evening in Chicago. (Not overnight -- we're staying in the 'burbs for a family wedding, but we'll have a car.) Any suggestions on how to get the most out of our short visit (especially with grumpy teenagers)?"
From Sue Painter: "We just returned from a wonderful trip to Bali in September 2003. Despite US government warnings about travel to Indonesia, our experiences in Bali (which is Hindu, not Muslim) were perfectly safe. Currently, their tourist economy is very slow, so many good hotel deals are to be had. We stayed in top of the line resorts for less than 1/2 the usual rates. Meals and shopping are terrific values, and a driver/guide for a full day can be had for $30 US."
From Dyana Anderly: "I'm planning on visiting Puerto Vallarta in January 2004 with my husband, my son and his wife. I am looking for an all-inclusive package at a hotel reasonably near downtown and activities. Ideally the rooms have balconies and beach views, and I would hope to find one that included night-club type activities for my son and his wife to enjoy. The Premiere Hotel looks inviting, but it may be a bit sedate as it advertises its spa and peaceful setting. Any comment on the Premiere or suggestions for another nearby all-inclusive hotel?"
