In addition to our regular biweekly roundup of seafaring specials like a week in the Caribbean from $299, we've highlighted one itinerary aimed specifically at chocoholics (doesn't that include everyone?).
Cruiselines offer new programs for spa and golf enthusiasts and start spending some serious cash on major overhauls, plus the passing of cruise maven Peter Dielmann and more.
Put on your fur hat and get a hot cup of coffee, because Eastern European destinations get really cheap during the winter. This week, Finnair is offering very low fares to destinations in Russia, the Baltics and even Scandinavia, and two packagers are offering discounted hotel/airfare deals.
Southwest Airlines, America West Vacations and Allegiant Air are all serving up cheap Vegas packages this holiday season, and the prices can make even the stingiest Grinch smile.
To discover the nuts and bolts of our craft, we remind you about these seminars being held down in balmy Key West this coming February.

From Barbara Goldstein: "As more and more hotels add in-room (or out of room) hot tubs and jacuzzis, I have to wonder about the hygiene related to this. Particularly in third world countries, how can we be sure that the water does not carry infectious substances? We often pay a premium for a room with a hot tub, but then are we really comfortable using it? Are spa test kits and/or bromine tablets allowed on carry-ons - or even in checked luggage? Does anyone have experience with this?"
From N. Plenge: "I'm in the market for a new voltage converter-adaptor with a circuit breaker and dual wattage capabilities. It needs to be safe to use with a hair dryer as well as a battery charger for a digital camera. Some of the adaptors I've found on the internet warn against using them with battery chargers, so I thought it would be best to consult others who have personal experience in this area."
From Karen Palmer: "Our son and 2 friends (all under the age of 14) travelled today via Continental Airlines with the unaccompanied minor program. Due to the fires here in San Diego County many flights in & out of SAN had been cancelled or delayed. Continental kept all 3 families informed throughout. Thanks for providing a great service and keeping us informed."
From Willy Wilson: "If you search for rental cars on Expedia, there isn't any way to include all the vendors in a single search for the cheapest cars. Instead, you must choose 'Expedia Picks,' which returns a list of cars with the cheapest coming first. People should know that the 'Expedia Picks' results do NOT draw from all vendors, but rather only from a group of Expedia's "corporate partners" that pay Expedia for the partnership."
From Travel Spice: "I'm taking my nephew on his first trip to Europe as a graduation gift -- although he's saved his portion of the $$$. We don't, or rather, I don't want to do the youth hostel thing at my age, and I'd love to get as much character as possible for our money."
